Assen Rusev was born in 1938 in Shumen. In 1958 he graduated from the Woodworking School in Ruse. Since 1973 he has participated in all national exhibitions of applied art. He is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. His works have been presented in the former Soviet Union, Germany, the Czech Republic and France. He lived and worked in Shumen. Died in 2013.
