George Georgiev was born in 1951 in the village of Bozici, Surdulica, Serbia. He graduated in 1976 from the Higher Technical School in Bitola, Macedonia, in what was then Yugoslavia and launched his engineering career at the Gorenje plant in present-day Slovenia. He started painting in 1979 after marrying. During the breakup of Yugoslavia, he returned to his native Surdulica and devoted himself to creativity. He has 40 solo exhibitions in Slovenia, Switzerland, Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Austria and dozens of collective exhibitions in many countries.
