Mara (Mariela Dimitrova) was born in 1967 in Sofia. In 1987, she graduated from the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts in Cuba with a major in Graphics and has a major in Bulgarian Philology from the St. Kliment Ohridski Sofia University from 1995. She has had 15 solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and more than 20 participations in collective events in Bulgaria, Cuba and the Netherlands. She lives and works in Sofia.
