Mihai Dascalu was born in Victoria, Romania on May 1, 1960. He has graduated with a degree in Engineering in the field of geodesy. His first exhibition was participation in a collective exposition in 1984 in Resita, Romania. Since then, he has had 93 individual and group events in 14 countries. He has won a number of national and international awards from 1985 to this day, including first places at the American Art Awards in 2010, 2011 and 2015. He has authored numerous publications and books on naive art. His works are included in the textbooks for grades 7, 8 and 11 in Romania.
