
Makdonna-Moscho Tzavella was born in Sofia. She graduated the National High School of Ancient Languages and Cultures “St.Constantine-Cyril the Philosopher” in 1990. She holds Master’s degrees in Theory and History of Culture and in Management from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Makdonna-Moscho Tzavella also specialized History and Philosophy of Art; Cultural Anthropology in universities in Italy, Greece and the Netherlands. She is the author of two books and has published stories, travelogues, commentaries and articles in the periodical press. She illustrated books with fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen, published in Bulgaria and currently is working on a new book. Makdonna-Moscho plays piano, tennis and shares her time between Greece and Bulgaria. Makdonna-Moscho Tzavella has more than 20 solo exhibitions in Bulgaria, Greece and the Netherlands and participations in several collective exhibitions. Her paintings are sold at art auctions, organized by the Auction House “Appolo & Mercury”. Paintings of Makdonna-Moscho Tzavella belong to private art collectors in Greece, Canada, the USA, the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, UAE, Finland and Bulgaria. She is an exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian artists.
