Mariana Kalacheva was born in 1977 in Plovdiv. She holds Master’s degrees in Graphics and Pedagogy of Fine Arts from the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv. She has lived and worked in Bulgaria and France and currently in the United States. Her debut in the showroom was in 1998 with a presentation of drawings in ink and with a dry brush. Since 2005, she has worked with oil. Her paintings are in private collections in Bulgaria, USA, Australia, UK, Taiwan, Russia, Brazil, Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Serbia. She has had 17 solo exhibitions in 6 countries and dozens of participations in collective events in 11 countries. She has won several awards, including the one from the Art Revolution International Competition in Taipei, Taiwan.
