Mirko Markesic was born on February 27, 1950 in Stara Diklenica (Belovar) in Croatia. His work is a part of the world-famous Hlebine School. He has completed the eighth grade of primary school. He is a farmer who has been painting for 50 years. He has had three solo exhibitions in Croatia. He has participated in about 50 joint exhibitions in Croatia and Europe and has received praise from the Croatian Parliament and the municipality’s appreciation for promoting culture. He has participated in about 100 art plein airs and about 20 humanitarian actions. There are paintings of his on all continents. He paints with oil on glass and canvas, dry pastel and ink.
